Reverse description Nilus, the personification of the Nile River, seated left on rocks, his body turned slightly toward the viewer. He holds a long reed in his right hand and a cornucopia in his left, from which a small Genius emerges holding a wreath. A crocodile, emblematic of the Nile, climbs up the rocks beneath the figure. The regnal year legend appears in the field. The composition is a classic Alexandrian type celebrating the fertility and abundance of Egypt.
