Reverse description Zeus enthroned to the left, his semi-draped figure seated upon an ornate throne, extending a patera in his right hand and holding a long upright sceptre in his left. An eagle stands at his feet to the left, facing inward in the customary Alexandrian rendering of this Jovian type. The date legend in Greek appears in the field, recording the 11th regnal year of Antoninus Pius according to the Egyptian calendar. The overall composition reflects the classicising Hellenistic artistic tradition maintained by the Alexandrian mint.
