| Reverse description | Euthenia, the personification of abundance and prosperity unique to Alexandrian coinage, seated to the left upon a throne or chair. She holds in her extended right hand ears of corn and poppies, emblems of agricultural fertility, while her left hand rests upon a long vertical sceptre. The figure is rendered in a draped garment with a modius or crown visible upon her head, consistent with standard Alexandrian representations of this deity. The regnal year date appears in the field to the right. The composition is typical of the Antonine-period Alexandrian bronze series. |
