| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, with naturalistic portraiture characteristic of Alexandrian provincial coinage of the Antonine period. The emperor's hair is rendered in short, closely cropped curls across the forehead and temples. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, running from the left field across the upper register and down the right field. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with a patina of green and brown encrustation consistent with Egyptian soil conditions. |
