Reverse description Two standing figures facing one another in a dextrarum iunctio (handshake) composition, a well-attested type celebrating the alliance between the cities of Mytilene and Pergamum. To the left, a heroic male figure representing Pergamum — identified as Pergamos or Telephos — stands facing right, holding a small cult statue of Asclepius in his free hand. To the right, a turreted Tyche representing Mytilene stands facing left, holding a Dionysiac herm. The scene powerfully symbolises the civic koinon uniting the two cities, with the encircling legend naming the alliance explicitly.
