| Reverse description | Nude bearded male deity, identified tentatively as Zeus, standing facing with head turned to the right. A chlamys is draped over his left shoulder, and he holds an uncertain object, possibly a thunderbolt, in one hand, and a long sceptre in the other. The figure is rendered in a classical Hellenistic style typical of Lydian civic bronzes of the Antonine period. The ethnic legend ΤΡΙΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ appears in the field or around the periphery, identifying the issuing city of Tripolis ad Maeandrum. |
