Obverse description Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted in three-quarter front view with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The effigy displays the characteristic radiate crown of the period, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Smyrna conventus. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ Π ΛΙΚ ΒΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΟϹ, proclaiming his full imperial titulature, distributed around the periphery of the field.
