| Obverse description | Radiate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, the head wreathed with a corona spicea (wreath of grain ears), with an aegis on the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic style of Alexandrian provincial coinage, combining Roman iconographic conventions with local artistic tradition. The encircling legend names Trajan with his full titulature in Greek characters. |

The scene evokes the tradition of the Roman triumph and reflects Trajan's Parthian victory, a theme celebrated on Alexandrian coinage of his final regnal years. The date regnal formula appears in the field. The composition is characteristic of the elaborate reverse types found on large-module Alexandrian bronzes of the period. |
