Obverse description Laureate nude bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style with characteristic bold relief. The laureate wreath is clearly delineated, with the aegis — the divine attribute associated with Jupiter and Minerva — visible at the truncation of the left shoulder, lending the portrait an element of divine authority. The surrounding border features a beaded dotted circle. The Greek legend encircles the bust, partially visible along the periphery of the flan.
