| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered nude with an aegis draped over the left shoulder, a characteristic feature of the Alexandrian imperial series. The effigy is set within a beaded border, with the imperial legend disposed around the periphery of the field. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic mature features in the Trajanic style as adopted by the Alexandrian mint. The overall fabric is typical of Egyptian provincial bronze coinage of the early second century AD. |
