Reverse description Zeus recumbent and reclining to the left upon the back of a spread eagle, whose broad wings are depicted outstretched and filling much of the field. Zeus holds a thunderbolt in his extended hand, the composition set within a beaded border typical of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The eagle's feathering is rendered in fine detail, and Zeus's figure is shown in a semi-recumbent pose with drapery visible. The regnal date legend appears in the field, identifying this issue as struck in regnal year 16 of Trajan.
