Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, depicted from behind, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass rendered in relief. The Greek imperial legend ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ is disposed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait type is characteristic of the Severan provincial coinage of Asia Minor, emphasizing the prince's military attributes. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy encrustation consistent with prolonged burial.
