| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I facing right, seen from the rear in three-quarter view, the emperor shown as a warrior bearing a shield decorated with a gorgoneion device and a spear directed forward. The portrait conveys imperial military authority in the provincial idiom characteristic of Phrygian civic bronzes of the mid-third century. The obverse legend is disposed around the bust in Greek characters. |
