To the right, Nike advances leftward, extending a wreath over the emperor's head with her right hand and carrying a palm branch in her left. The composition conveys imperial military virtue and divine favour, executed in the lively, expressive style typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the Antonine period. The regnal year in Greek numerals appears in the field. |
