| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, draped with paludamentum, facing right and presented from the rear in a three-quarter view. The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with the legend partially preserved around the periphery of the flan. The portraiture reflects the mature iconographic convention associated with Marcus Aurelius as co-emperor and later sole ruler. |
