Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Lucius Verus, draped and cuirassed, facing left and seen from the rear, presenting a three-quarter back view characteristic of provincial coinage of the Antonine period. The emperor's features are rendered with typical provincial die-cutting, with the laurel wreath clearly visible atop the head. The encircling Greek legend identifies the ruler by his imperial titulature. The flan shows the characteristically irregular fabric of Phrygian civic bronze issues.
