Obverse description Bare head of Antinous facing left, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style characteristic of his posthumous civic cult imagery. The youthful, unbearded effigy displays the full, rounded features and wavy hair associated with canonical representations of Antinous. A Greek dedicatory legend surrounds the portrait in the field, reading ΑΝΤΙΝΟΩΙ ΗΡΩΙ, addressing him as a hero. The flan is broad and irregularly shaped, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Hadrianic period.
