Reverse description The Canopus of Osiris depicted facing right, shown as a characteristic mummy-shaped vessel with a human head surmounted by an elaborate crown bearing Osirian emblems and a modius. The body of the Canopic jar is rendered with horizontal banding suggesting wrapping, and the outstretched arms of the figure are visible at the sides. The regnal date legend L ΚΑ (Year 21) is placed in the field to either side of the figure, identifying this issue to the twenty-first year of Hadrian's reign.
