Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted from behind in the three-quarter rear view characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The emperor's head is adorned with a laurel wreath, and the paludamentum is visible over the cuirassed shoulder. The encircling Greek legend is divided on either side of the effigy, naming Hadrian with his full imperial titulature. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style typical of the Alexandrian mint, with bold, slightly coarse relief consistent with hammered bronze issues of this period.
