| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The imperial effigy displays a short beard characteristic of Hadrian's portraiture. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full titulature, running along the border of the flan. A piercing is visible at the left of the coin, indicating later use as a pendant or amulet. The flan is notably broad and slightly irregular. |
