Reverse description A tetrastyle temple with four columns and a rounded pediment occupies the central field, enclosing a frontal cult statue of Artemis Ephesia standing erect between two stags, her arms outstretched in the traditional Ephesian manner. The architectural rendering is detailed, with steps at the base and the characteristic rounded tholos-like pediment of the provincial type. The encircling Greek legend names the presiding magistrate and the issuing city, distributed around the periphery.
