| Reverse description | Two standing female figures face one another at centre: Artemis Anaïtis, depicted frontally and wearing a tall kalathos adorned with a long veil, extends both arms outward in a gesture of offering or blessing; to her side stands Tyche of Hypaepa, also facing front with head turned left, wearing a kalathos and holding a ship's rudder in one hand and a cornucopia in the other. The composition reflects the local religious syncretism characteristic of Lydian provincial coinage of the Severan period. The reverse legend naming the local magistrates (strategoi) is distributed around the field. |
