| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Ionian civic coinage of the early third century AD. The circular legend surrounds the bust, reading in Greek characters. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of provincial bronze issues of this period. |
