| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Phrygian civic coinage. The emperor's effigy displays a youthful bearded portrait with a laurel wreath clearly visible atop the head. The circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the field. The overall workmanship reflects the local die-cutting tradition of Hadrianopolis under the Conventus of Philomelium. |
