Reverse description Nilus, the personification of the Nile River, depicted as a reclining male figure turned to the left, holding a reed in one hand and a cornucopia in the other. A crocodile, emblematic of the Nile, is shown beside him. The regnal date ΙϚ (year 13, corresponding to 149-150 AD) appears in the upper field, rendered in Greek numerals. The composition is characteristic of Alexandrian provincial bronzes, frequently employing Nilus as a reverse type to celebrate the fertility of Egypt.
