| Obverse description | Laureate head of Antoninus Pius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder truncation. The emperor is depicted with a full beard and idealized imperial features characteristic of Antonine-period Alexandrian coinage. The surrounding Greek legend names the emperor in his full titulature, partially visible around the periphery of the flan. The flan is notably irregular and shows typical characteristics of provincial hammered bronze coinage. Significant surface patination and wear obscure finer details of the portraiture. |
