Additional information

Year 20 of Antoninus Pius's reign — the Κ in the obverse legend denotes the regnal year by Greek numeral, a dating convention Alexandria maintained throughout the imperial period and one of the few features that lets scholars sequence these provincials with confidence. The Alexandria mint under Antoninus was prolific; the sheer volume of types issued across his reign dwarfs most other provincial centers, yet individual varieties remain thinly represented in major collections.
