Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style. The obverse legend, partially preserved, runs around the bust and identifies the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait conveys the official imperial image as adopted in the Alexandrian mint's coinage of the fifth regnal year.
