Obverse description Bare laureate head of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style with characteristic broad facial features and a wreath of laurel leaves across the brow. The portrait displays the emperor's customary mature effigy with short hair and a slight beard. A partial Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan, partially off-flan due to the irregular planchet. The die work is bold, with the portrait dominating the field in high relief typical of Alexandrian tetradrachm-size bronzes.
