| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, seen from the centre, rendered in the provincial Egyptian style. The effigy displays the emperor in military dress with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The portrait exhibits the characteristic broad facial features and short beard associated with Antonine coinage from the Alexandrian mint. |
