| Obverse description | Draped and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius, laureate, facing right, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The emperor's portrait is rendered in a robust, high-relief style typical of provincial Roman coinage from the Antonine period. The circular Greek legend runs along the rim, reading ΑΥΤΟΚ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒΑϹ ΕΥϹΕ, abbreviating his imperial titulature as Autocrator, Caesar, Antoninus, Sebastos, and Eusebes. |

| Reverse description | Detailed bird's-eye and frontal composite view of Mount Gerizim, the sacred Samaritan mountain, depicted with its two characteristic peaks separated by a central ravine with a sloping roadway ascending between them. The left peak bears a colonnaded temple shown in perspective, approached by a long monumental stairway with subsidiary shrines flanking it; the right peak is surmounted by a smaller shrine surrounded by trees at its base. In the foreground, a colonnaded street or temenos wall is depicted, emphasizing the sacred urban landscape of Neapolis. The reverse legend ΦΛ ΝΕΑϹ ΠΟΛΕωϹ ϹΥΡΙΑϹ ΠΑΛΕϹΤ ΕΤ ΠΗ names the city Flavia Neapolis of Syria Palaestina and records the civic year 88. |
