Reverse description Hygieia stands to the right, extending a patera from which a serpent feeds, facing Asclepius who stands to the left leaning upon his serpent-entwined staff. Between the two principal deities, the small cloaked figure of Telesphorus stands frontally, a distinctive motif of Phrygian civic coinage. The composition reflects the prominent healing cult at Apamea and the iconographic tradition of the city's bronze emissions. The reverse legend identifying the panegyriarch Stratonikianos encircles the field.
