| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Phrygian civic issues. The laureate wreath is clearly delineated, with the bare neck and shoulder visible below. A continuous Greek imperial legend encircles the effigy, naming Trajan with his titulature including references to his Germanic and Dacian victories. The portrait exhibits the firm, idealised features typical of Trajanic provincial bronzes of the early second century AD. |
