| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, presented from a rear three-quarter perspective, a convention reflecting provincial workshop practice. The effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Conventus of Pergamum, with careful attention to the laurel wreath and military paludamentum. The encircling legend runs around the bust in Greek characters, with the Ζ notably retrograde. The portrait conforms to standard Severan dynastic iconography as employed in the provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor during the reign of Alexander Severus (222–235 AD). |
