| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage. The emperor's effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath, short-cropped beard, and paludamentum visible at the shoulder. A continuous Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the bold, slightly uneven strike typical of Roman provincial bronze issues of the Severan period. |
