| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Plautilla facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed in the Severan fashion with multiple ridged braids swept back and gathered at the nape, a small pendant visible at the ear. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine modeling of the facial features. The Greek legend encircles the bust within a dotted border, identifying the empress with a divine honorific as the New Goddess Hera. |
