Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, the emperor portrayed with his characteristic beard. The Greek legend partially preserved around the periphery identifies the ruler by his imperial titulature. The portrait is rendered in the distinctive Alexandrian style, with bold facial features typical of provincial coinage of the Antonine period.
