| Obverse description | Laureate head of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the truncation of the neck. The portrait is rendered in the Antonine style, with characteristic curled hair and beard framing a mature, idealized imperial effigy. The encircling Greek legend names the emperor in full along the periphery of the flan. The die work, though partially worn, reflects the competent provincial engraving tradition of the Alexandrian mint. |
