| Reverse description | A monumental Egyptian temple pylon depicted frontally, rendered with characteristic Alexandrian architectural precision, its towering trapezoidal gateway flanked by vertical pilasters with cornice at top. Within the central opening of the pylon stand two Canopic jars side by side, each surmounted by their distinctive stoppered heads — the sacred vessels associated with the cult of Osiris-Canopus venerated at Alexandria. The date regnal numeral appears in the field. The overall composition is deeply struck and well-centred, though the flan edge is irregular. |
