| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, viewed from the rear, with the radiate crown rendered in bold relief above the youthful imperial effigy. The legend surrounds the bust in Greek characters, occupying the full circumference of the flan. The surface carries an olive-green and reddish-brown patina consistent with a hammered provincial bronze fabric. |
