| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Paula facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and arranged in tight waves across the crown, a style characteristic of the Severan period. The empress is depicted with a stephane or diadem crowning her head, and her shoulders are covered by draped garments rendered in fine relief. The circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, naming the empress in full. The portrait displays the formal, idealized court style typical of provincial Mysian bronzes struck under Elagabalus. |
