Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, with a long, full beard rendered in the characteristic late Commodan style. The effigy displays pronounced facial features with a wide, curling beard and laureate wreath. A circular dotted border frames the design. The Greek legend is disposed around the periphery of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular edge of the struck planchet.
