| Reverse description | Sarapis enthroned, seated left, wearing the characteristic modius (kalathos) upon his head. The deity extends his right hand forward holding a patera above the three-headed figure of Cerberus seated at his feet, while his left hand grasps a long sceptre. The composition is a standard Serapic type common in Lydian civic coinage of the Antonine period, reflecting the strong cult of Sarapis at Tralles. The reverse legend, naming the local magistrate, runs around the field. |
