Obverse description Bare-headed, lightly bearded bust of Marcus Aurelius as Caesar facing right, draped in paludamentum, with curly hair rendered in the characteristic Antonine style. The legend, partially preserved, runs along the upper periphery of the coin. The portrait displays the youthful but maturing features of Marcus Aurelius prior to his elevation to Augustus, consistent with Alexandrian provincial die-cutting of the mid-second century.
