Reverse description A captive Dacian warrior, dressed in characteristic national costume comprising a peaked Phrygian-style cap, long-sleeved tunic, and breeches, is depicted seated left upon a round shield, in an attitude of dejection and submission. His right knee is drawn upward, with the head bowed and resting upon the right hand, which is in turn propped upon the raised knee, while the left arm rests across the knee. Behind the figure stands a trophy composed of a helmet, cuirass, oblong shield, and a pair of crossed swords, symbolising Roman victory in the Dacian Wars. The magistrate's legend occupies the field and exergue, naming the local strategos responsible for the issue and citing the honorific epithets Germanicus and Dacicus. The composition reflects standard imperial iconography celebrating Trajan's Dacian conquests adapted for civic provincial coinage.
