Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Ionian mint at Colophon. The effigy displays the laureate wreath and paludamentum characteristic of imperial portraiture of the Trajanic period. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, reading partially around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical provincial bronze patination with some weakness in the legend due to uneven striking.
