| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled in the characteristic Severan style, rendered in high relief with fine detail. The empress is depicted with a prominent diadem and her garment rendered in layered folds at the truncation. The Greek legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ (Julia Augusta) runs around the periphery of the field, with a beaded border visible along the rim. |
