| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view common to provincial bronzes of this period. The imperial effigy displays the emperor's paludamentum (military cloak) and segmented cuirass, with the laureate wreath clearly rendered despite surface wear. The encircling Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The die work is typical of the Lydian provincial workshops operating under the Conventus of Ephesus during the Severan dynasty. |
