| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Otacilia Severa facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound with a diadem. The empress is portrayed with the characteristic Severan dynastic style, the drapery rendered in folds across the shoulder and chest. The encircling Greek legend identifies her by her full imperial titulature. The flan is broad and irregular, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. |
