| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Otacilia Severa facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Phrygian mint at Laodicea ad Lycum. The empress is depicted with an elaborate coiffure beneath her diadem, her drapery rendered in folds across the shoulder and chest. The circumferential Greek legend reads Μ ΩΤΑΚΙΑ ϹΕΒΗΡΑ ϹΕ, identifying her as Marcia Otacilia Severa Augusta. The coin displays heavy patination consistent with a provincial bronze issue of the mid-third century AD. |
